How to Add a New User Account to WordPress

  1. Login (How to Login)
  2. Select "Users" from the left navigation
  3. Select "Add New" top left
  4. Fill in the required user information.
  5. Username: You can not change your username once it's set.
  6. Email: Add the new user email address - This can be updated when needed.
  7. Password: This is where you can set a password for the new user. Once added, they will get an email notification prompting them to login/update the password.
  8. Send User Notification: Be sure this is checked - This sends an email so the new user can change their password.


Role: Be sure to select the role for the new user. This can be updated as needed.

Administrator = Full Access

Author = For users to only have access to make and edit posts/pages

Subscriber/Contributor = Limited access.


Press "Add New User" to save and create the new user.
